Delivering CAPD therapy in a safe and convenient way with stay•safe®
The stay•safe® system has been specifically designed to help patients with their daily self-care CAPD treatment in a safe and convenient way. Operating errors are essentially excluded. This innovation has resulted in improved safety levels, patient compliance and excellent clinical results.1,2,3,4,5,6,7
Four steps to success
Designed for extra safety and convenience during operation, the stay•safe® system facilitates better patient compliance.

Extra safety built in | The unique PIN system automatically closes the catheter extension before disconnection. This minimises the possibility of related touch contamination |
50% less risk steps with stay•safe | PIN technology eliminates 1,460 risk steps* per patient year compared with conventional systems, thus contributing lower risk of contamination |
Guided operation | The control switch of the DISC guides patients through all essential steps of the procedure facilitating confidence and improved compliance |
Free from breaking cones and clamps | With the DISC your patients do not have to worry about clamping the wrong lines or forgetting where they are in the procedure |

Biofine® — Protecting your patients and the environment
Biofine® is free of any plasticizer, like DEHP that is commonly used in PVC materials.
Fresenius Medical Care introduced environmentally friendly PD products into the market in 1996 when stay•safe® CAPD was presented as the first system made entirely out of Biofine. Since then many other PVC free products have followed.
Biofine® is a seven-layer polymer constructed from hydrogen and carbon atoms
- PVC-free and plasticizer-free
- Requires the use of less material (60% thinner than PVC)
- Generates less waste
- Does not release hydrochloric acid upon incineration
- Less energy needed for production
- Can be easily recycled
